After Christmas I started to develop this serious addiction to everything Starbucks. As well as being not particularly great for my waist line, my purse also began to feel the strain. I am one of those people that the employees of Starbucks probably hate, a fussy fussy coffee orderer. My usual was a Café Latte Grande with soya milk and a shot of caramel with no sugar, I couldn’t get enough of these. I have managed to get my addiction under some sort of control and I have managed to limit my visits to once or twice a week now.
Now that the weather is becoming slightly hotter in Madrid (when I say slightly it jumped from 12 – 33 degrees Celsius), hot coffee isn’t high on my wish list. What I would rather slurp away on right now would be a delicious Frappuccino, I imagine this is even worse for the waist line than the Latte. So taking this into consideration I decided to create my own recipe for an Almond Frappuccino and it is super easy to make and once you have demolished it you don’t need to feel guilty about the amount of bad calories you have consumed, it’s full of natural goodness. Sorry Starbucks but I’m out for now.
How to Make It
This recipe really doesn’t involve much effort, all you need to do is throw a bunch of ingredients into a blender and your final result with be a delicious, rich, refreshing drink. Start off by adding 1 cup of almond milk the blender followed by 5 almonds, 3 dates, tablespoon of maple/agave syrup and a tablespoon of coffee. Blend the mixture well until all the almonds and dates have been broken down. You can either choose to drink it like a milkshake as it is or if you prefer a more refreshing frozen drink add 2/3 ice cubes or again blend well. Once it has all been broken down, find your favourite cup, grab a straw and enjoy!!
